Early Childhood Screening is a quick and simple screening of your child's social/emotional, language, motor and cognition skills. A check of your child's height, weight, vision, hearing and immunization records will be conducted during the screening appointment. The screening uses the DIAL-4 and Ages and Stages Social/Emotional Questionnaire as a foundation for the screening results.
Early Childhood Screening is designed for children between 3 and 5 years of age. It is recommended that children are screened between 3 and 4 if possible. Your child's screening results will be shared with you at the conclusion of the appointment. Minnesota state statute requires that all children participate in early childhood screening prior to public kindergarten entrance.
The goal is to identify if additional services should be provided to ensure your child is ready for Kindergarten.
Appointments take about one hour and are held at Oak Ridge Early Learning Center.
