Description:
Chess embodies Art, Science and Sport. Challenge Yourself, Meet New Friends, Reduce Stress, and Learn Strategy and Pattern Recognition. The class will be taught by two passionate chess players, Mr. Paul Keyworth and Mr. Long Chen.
Mr. Paul Keyworth is a US Certified Level 1 Chess Coach and an active United States Chess Federation member. He is a qualified teacher of 20 years who has taught students of all ages, along the way starting scholastic chess clubs and teaching chess classes locally, in New York City, overseas, and online.
Mr. Long Chen has placed in the top three in chess tournaments in Laredo, TX; St. Cloud, MN; and Berlin, Germany since age nine. He has a lichess rating of 2100 in both Blitz and Rapid formats.
Each chess session is two hours long with the first hour for teaching beginners and intermediate players the fundamentals of the game, as well as strategy, tactics, and puzzles. The second hour is for open chess play. Participants are encouraged to bring their own chess sets and a notebook. This class is offered to grade 1 - Adult.
